Speech and language skills are essential when expressing ourselves and understanding the world around us. Everything we do and interact with, verbally or non-verbally, is communication! Milestones provide us examples of communication skills typically developed by age, including both expressive language (the ability to communicate wants and needs) and receptive language (the ability to understand, follow directions, and comprehend information).
